Job Description

Video Editor (Part-Time, In-Office — Omaha).

Creative Olsen is a media production agency based in Omaha, Nebraska, specializing in commercial photography and video production for both enterprise brands and trusted local businesses. Our work spans a wide range of industries, with clients including Google, AGCO, Valmont, YMCA, and FNBO. As an award-winning agency, we’re known for delivering high-quality & reliable creative work, all while fostering a fun, collaborative, and innovative work environment that stays agile in an ever-changing media landscape.

We’re hiring a part-time Video Editor to take ownership of post-production across client projects and deliver polished, final-ready work with consistency, care, and strong editorial judgment.

The Role:

You’ll edit projects from raw footage through final delivery. You’ll receive creative direction and project context, then execute independently; shaping structure, pacing, sound, and finishing while keeping revisions organized and efficient.

What You’ll Do:
  • Edit video projects end-to-end, including interviews, brand films, sizzles, case studies, event recaps, and social content across platforms (Broadcast, TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, etc.).
  • Handle ingest, syncing, transcoding, and timeline setup with clear labeling and organized project structures.
  • Build rough assemblies, string-outs, and refined edits based on creative briefs or scripts.
  • Perform light color correction, audio leveling, and basic motion graphics as part of the finishing process.
  • Manage revisions, versioning, and feedback accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and deliver final exports in multiple aspect ratios, codecs, and platform-specific specifications.
  • Manage project files and media across shared drives and cloud-based storage systems.
  • Maintain consistent quality, pacing, and brand standards across multiple clients.
  • Resolve common post-production issues independently (media relinking, codec conflicts, export issues, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director and production team to ensure alignment from edit through delivery.
  • Stay current on evolving platform requirements, editing tools, and video best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of hands-on video editing or post-production experience (agency, freelance, or internship experience welcome).
  • Strong editorial judgment, pacing, and storytelling instincts.
  • Ability to own projects independently and manage details without heavy oversight.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail across files, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Clear and professional communication in collaborative environments.
  • Strong understanding of video codecs, terminology, and post-production workflows.
  • Experience working with Canon and DJI footage, including REC 709 and LOG workflows.

Tools & Technical Experience:

  • Proficient in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Experience working within shared storage environments and collaborative review tools.
  • Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve is a plus.
  • Light motion graphics and finishing experience (After Effects or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience with Photo Mechanic, Lightroom, and Photoshop is a plus.
  • Ability to color correct and work with RAW images is a plus.

Schedule, Location & Equipment:

  • Part-time: 2–3 days per week (approximately 16–24 hours/week).
  • In-office role located in West Omaha, NE.
  • Set working days established in advance for planning and scheduling.
  • Late-model Apple MacBook Pro (16”), monitor, and required software provided.

Compensation:

  • $30–$40/hour, dependent upon experience.
  • Hourly.
  • Paid for hours worked.

How to Apply:

Please send:

  • Resume.
  • A link to your portfolio, reel or past projects that highlight your ability.
  • 1–2 examples you’re particularly proud of.
