CalPERS seeks an Accounting Officer, Specialist in the Financial Reporting and Accounting Services Division, Pension Valuation Accounting Unit.
Under general supervision of the Financial Accountant II, Supervisor, the Accounting Officer, Specialist onsite and virtually completes monthly general ledger account reconciliations between PeopleSoft Financials and myCalPERS for the Judges’ II Retirement Fund. Prepares reconciliation for each general ledger account using PeopleSoft Financial queries, myCalPERS reports, State Controller’s Office receipts and other resources as needed. Analyzes general ledger account activity to ensure financial transactions are accurate. Researches and resolves reconciliation inaccuracies and explain account balance fluctuations. Posts correcting journal entries to PeopleSoft Financials as needed.
Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.

Effective July 1, 2025, The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee shall receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits, monthly. Working Conditions
- This position is designated as office-centered and works primarily onsite at the Sacramento, CA -Headquarters at least three weekdays.
- May be required to sit for extended periods of time.
- May be required to travel between buildings.
- Low-wall, cubicle environment with florescent lighting
- Must be able to work Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Statement of Qualifications
