Make Ready Technician – Apartment Community (Houston, TX)

Pay: $18 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Make Ready Technician to prepare vacant apartments for new residents at our Class C apartment communities in Houston, TX . The ideal candidate is hands-on, reliable, and takes pride in quality workmanship and fast turnarounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant units for new move-ins, completing all make-ready tasks efficiently and to company standards.
• Perform basic repairs including:
• Plumbing (leaks, faucets, toilets)
• Electrical (light fixtures, outlets, switches)
• HVAC troubleshooting (no license required)
• Carpentry, drywall, and painting repairs
• Appliance installation or replacement
• Flooring and tile repair
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas, maintenance shop, and common areas.
• Report any unsafe conditions or major maintenance issues promptly.
• Support preventive maintenance programs as assigned.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with company standards.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of apartment make-ready, maintenance, or general repair experience (Class B/C properties preferred).
• Skills: Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance repair.
• Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to travel between properties as needed.
• Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Screening: Must pass a background check.
• Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish)preferred.
