Now Hiring: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Service-Based Business Expertise (Remote)

We're looking for a strategic CFO with a track record of driving growth in service-based businesses — ideally with experience supporting law firms or professional service organizations.

We are seeking a financial leader who understands small business growth from the inside out — someone who has:
✅ Built and scaled their own business, or
✅ Consulted directly with small businesses to help them grow profitably, or
✅ Led financial operations inside a small, fast-growing company.

If you can turn financial data into clear action plans — and you love working directly with business owners to build clarity, accountability, and growth — this role is for you.

Experience with a law firm or professional services firm is a major plus
What You'll Do

• Serve as Fractional CFO for 20–30 small law firm clients

• Meet virtually with clients twice per month (~60 hrs./month client-facing)

• Analyze financials, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable insights

• Hold clients accountable and drive execution of financial goals

• Partner with bookkeepers to ensure accurate, timely financial data

• Guide improvements in financial systems, processes, and internal controls

What We're Looking For

• 8–10+ years of experience as a CFO, Controller, or senior financial leader
• Proven background in professional service businesses (e.g., Law, Accounting, Financial Advisory, Consulting, Engineering, etc.)
• Experience with a law firm or legal-industry financial operations is a huge plus
• Stable track record (5+ years tenure in most prior roles)
• Experience starting, growing, or scaling small to mid-sized businesses (service-based preferred)
• Strong FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis skills
• Ability to clean up messy books , improve systems, and create financial visibility
• Leadership experience ( managed 5+ team members )
• High EQ , strong business acumen, and ability to mentor and coach business owners

This Role Is NOT for You If:

• You've had multiple jobs in the last five years or frequently move between positions
• You're looking for a part-time, consulting-only, or short-term gig — this is a full-time, long-term opportunity
• Your background is primarily in Financial Services Companies or  nonprofit organizations
• You've never advised, led, or financially supported a small or mid-sized service-based business
• You prefer an employee mindset over an ownership mindset — we're looking for someone who takes full accountability for outcomes, not just tasks
• You're uncomfortable with direct communication, accountability, or working with multiple clients at once
• You prefer large corporate structures, rigid hierarchies, or slow-moving environments — this role is fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative
• You struggle to translate numbers into action or don't enjoy working directly with business owners to help them make better decisions
• You're resistant to technology, remote work, or using multiple software tools for collaboration

Compensation

• Base Salary: $110,000
• Performance Pay: Up to $182,000 total annually , depending on client roster
