Loveland Fire Rescue Authority (LFRA) is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as Fire Marshal for our progressive, all-hazards emergency services organization. The Fire Marshal position is a sworn, Chief-level position responsible for providing policy direction, administrative oversight, and strategic leadership for the Community Safety Division. Reporting to the Risk Reduction and Readiness Assistant Fire Chief, the Fire Marshal is responsible for advancing community risk reduction efforts while ensuring compliance with fire and life safety codes.
Salary Information: The annual salary for this exempt position is $168,211.

Specifically the Fire Marshal will:
Develop, present, and implement local code amendments; prepare code adoption documents for Authority jurisdictions.
Oversee the Community Safety Division (CSD), including staff supervision for plan reviews, inspections, permitting, fire investigations, and code development.
Manage the CSD budget, write policies, and oversee the completion of reports.
Conduct and manage fire prevention inspections for compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Represent LFRA in meetings with construction development professionals, governmental agencies, and public safety partners.
Oversee the construction development process to ensure all projects are designed and built in compliance with adopted codes and standards.
Act as the primary liaison between LFRA and various municipal and county departments; facilitating collaboration with the development community on matters related to the Municipal and Fire Codes, land use, legislation, and fire prevention programs.
Attend Authority, District, and Council meetings to provide information on CSD matters.
We are looking for a candidate that demonstrates:
Proficiency in applying International Fire and Building Codes, NFPA standards, and local ordinances, while balancing regulatory compliance with practical solutions.
Knowledge of building design and construction, including load considerations, fire behavior, and collapse potential, as well as the design, operation, and maintenance of fire protection systems.
Advanced leadership, supervisory, management, and motivational skills essential to effective and efficient development and utilization of human resources.
Strong political acumen and collaboration skills, with the ability to build consensus across jurisdictions and maintain relationships with elected officials, regulators, and community partners.
Exceptional communication skills, including public education, report writing, and interagency coordination.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred; fields of study such as Fire Science, Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Management, Public Administration, or similar are particularly desirable. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Center for Professional Excellence (CPSE) - Fire Marshal designation or International Code Council (ICC) Certified Fire Marshal within twelve (12) months of hire date.
Experience
Five years as a full-time fire service professional required.
Two years' supervisory experience required.
Licenses/Certifications Required at Time of Application (copies of all required certifications must be attached to this application in order to be considered):
Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
International Code Council (ICC) Plans Examiner
International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) - Fire Investigation Technician or National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI) - Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator
