Job Description

Are you an energetic, entrepreneurial communications professional in training looking for a high-impact, paid opportunity this summer? Do you bring strong writing, strategic thinking and storytelling skills, social media fluency and intellectual curiosity? Are you eager to learn how a communications team operates inside a Fortune 500 company?

If so, we should meet. We expect to fill this position quickly.

XPO is a leading freight transportation provider with more than 20,000 employees across North America. We are seeking a communications intern or co-op to join our team from mid-May through the end of the summer.

Our communications team operates at the intersection of corporate communications, media relations, social media, marketing, employee advocacy and multi-platform internal communications. Interns are embedded in the day-to-day work of the team and contribute to real projects that support the XPO's business and brand.

This is a hands-on opportunity to gain meaningful experience, direct exposure to senior leaders and insight into how communications supports strategy at scale. Rising seniors, recent graduates or current graduate students who are motivated, curious and eager to do real work will find this a strong fit. An interest in trucking—and the people who keep freight moving every day—is a plus.

This role is largely in-person and includes training and development through XPO’s official internship program.

Location: New York City (minimum four days a week in-person at our Brooklyn office).

Compensation: This will be a paid, hourly position.

  • Energetic work style with a strong drive to succeed
